Lucy Kama

Lucy Kama, a courageous fighter, was a pediatric patient born partially deaf and blind with heart and brain defects. She was also diagnosed with Trisomy 18, a chromosome disorder that disrupts development. Although only 10 percent of infants with Trisomy 18 survive beyond the age one, Lucy lived to almost three years old. Her story reminds us to live life to the fullest and never take it for granted. Her life was short, but her family filled it with lots of love and fun. This year, Lucy would have been five years old.

Dale Lisa Yanagihara

Dale Lisa Yanagihara was known by many as a multi-talented woman. She was a successful business woman, a surfer, a champion golfer, an accomplished ballroom dancer, a skilled ikebana practitioner, and above all a loving a caring wife and mother. At a young age of 28, she was the first woman to become a district director of Pitney Bowes, an international fortune 500 company and was honored as their “Employee of the Year” shortly thereafter. When Dale was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she was calm, brave and unafraid. The cancer was aggressive, and the timeline was short, but this was how she always tackled challenges and new opportunities – relaxed and fearless.
